want butterbeans at your school?
school wide lunch program
Yes! Your children can eat healthy, delicious, freshly cooked whole foods at school. Butter Beans provides school-wide lunch programs for schools who want to offer hot lunch to their students body, and wellness education programs in and out of the classroom that raise awareness of, and connect students to their food from the seed to the table. Even if your school does not have an on-site kitchen or cafeteria, we can tailor a fresh hot lunch program that meets your needs and your vision. Click here for details on how this service works.

wellness education
Regardless of which Butter Beans lunch service your school uses, we incorporate some degree of wellness education. For all schools, we provide monthly articles on seasonal foods inclusive of why these foods are good for your body and cooking and serving ideas. For our school-wide lunch clients, we provide food labeling to illustrate where their food comes from for that day. If a school is interested in having Butter Beans more involved in their Wellness initiatives, we offer our contribution to your Wellness and Food Committees as well as topical workshops for faculty, students, and parents. We have found value in involving students and parents in the lunch program. We set up and facilitate student and parent committees to discuss and gather ideas for our menu and practicies. The more we can involve and educate our students about the choices we make as it pertains to our food choices and our food sourcing, the better. When they feel a part, and understand they why’s of what we do, they become more informed choice makers around food in and outside of the cafeteria.
For interested schools, we also offer in-class seasonal food curriculum and after school cooking classes. When students make food, they always want to eat it!
allergies & special nutrition needs
In addition to cooking with healthy ingredients, we tailor to vegetarian diets as well as create meals for children with allergies with gluten-free, egg-free, dairy-free, and nut-free recipes.
